Sometimes it’s good to stray outside the box, and smoothies are a great place for experimentation. Adding even one of these to your usual morning mix will shakeup your routine and set you up for a great day.
Avocado. Avocados are packed with healthy fats and add a creamy texture to any smoothie. Simply add 1/2 to your usual and blend.
Collagen. Collagen is a great way to help support healthy skin, bones, hair, and nails. The amino acids in collagen need fat-soluble vitamins like A and D for proper absorption, so include things like carrots, kale, mango, sweet potato, or cantaloupe.
Green tea. Give your smoothie a boost of antioxidants with green tea. Simply brew a cup and let it cool or add 1/2 a teaspoon of matcha powder to your next smoothie.
Probiotics. Blending a probiotic supplement into your smoothie is a great way to get your daily dose of good bacteria. You can add either a liquid probiotic or a powdered supplement.
Zucchini peels. Save those peels next time you make zoodles! Zucchini peels are a source of fiber and have such a neutral taste that they blend perfectly in both fruit and veggie based smoothies.
